Budget: ₹10 crore
Box Office Collection: ₹11 crore (Approx. $1.4 million)
Verdict: Flop
Movie Description:
Chakram is an emotional drama that showcases a different side of Prabhas as an actor. The story follows Chakram, a brilliant medical student who suddenly abandons his dream life and his fiancée, Lakshmi (Asin), without explanation. Instead, he moves to a slum and dedicates himself to helping the underprivileged.
As the story unfolds, it is revealed that Chakram is suffering from a terminal illness and doesn’t want his loved ones to suffer. Despite his pain, he brings joy to others by solving their problems, spreading positivity, and becoming a source of hope for many. His selfless acts win him admiration, but his personal sacrifices make his story tragic.
The film had a strong emotional core and showcased Prabhas in a unique role, unlike his previous action-driven characters. However, due to a slow-paced narrative and lack of commercial elements, it didn’t perform well at the box office. Over time, it gained appreciation for its message and performances.
Awards:
