Movie Description:
Pournami is a period drama directed by Prabhu Deva, featuring a blend of action, romance, and dance. The story revolves around a mysterious dancer named Siva Kesava (Prabhas), who arrives in a village with a hidden agenda. He is drawn into the life of Pournami, a young woman from a traditional dance family, and her sister Chandrakala (Charmme).
The film reveals the deep-rooted traditions and rituals of a temple festival, where a chosen dancer must perform a sacred dance to honor the gods. When Pournami mysteriously disappears, her sister is forced to take her place, with Siva Kesava standing as her protector against a ruthless villain (Rahul Dev). The film explores themes of love, sacrifice, and destiny.
Despite grand visuals, beautiful dance sequences, and an emotional storyline, Pournami failed at the box office. However, it later gained a cult following for its unique storytelling, music by Devi Sri Prasad, and Prabhas’ intense performance.
